Selected works IV: Red Brush 1
Dated 1998 (?):

Red Brush 1 / Recycled brush on wood by NetPierre ca.1998
I like to recycle old materials for my projects.
For example, brushes i used at work are never thrown away and i keep them all in a big bucket for re-use.
This brush was the first in a series of brushes, all standing on a wooden base and finished with an acrylic paint. Until now i made 4 of these, in different shapes and colors, and i am still planning to work on new ones.
The background painting (40x50cm, acrylic paint on canvas) is one of my many backgrounds that i use for making photos or as a background for portraits and cat paintings

Selected works III: Cat Painting I

The cats in this painting were my first two cats (twins), the one on top sadly passed away in 2006.
This painting was made as a tribute and based on a picture that i took a few years earlier when i found them both on top of each-other in the laundry-basket.

Happy 2010 / Selected works I / Pistaccio-art I
Dear regular or coincidental reader of my blog.
I would like to wish all of you the best for the new year.
May all your new years resolutions for 2010 become a reality.
I hope you will keep visiting this blog, so far i am very happy with all the visits from all over the world... i will try to keep the blog interesting enough.
NetPierre's intentions for 2010 are:
- Less smoking
- Be more creative / make more music and publish regularly
- Blog more frequently
- Upgrade to a new PC
- Producing a new downloadable videoshow (VODcast)
( more info on this later - it's still a secret...!)
- Producing and trying to make a huge succes of the internet-danceradioshow 'The Groove Express' for OldschoolFM
There's a lot of work to be done in 2010... but i also have to work...
The (temporary) new NetPierre.TV site is now up, just click the >VIEW VIDEO< button in the right column to take a look into the Dutch NetPierre headquarters. Starting today, and more in the coming weeks i will also post some pictures of my old artwork, pictures of my paintings and more stuff like that. Some of these works are over 15 years old already, and never really 'published' I hope you like them, feel free to leave a comment.

This time it's first object i ever made in a series of Pistaccio-art / december 2000
( made using cork (for the base), some open pistaccio's and acrylic paint )
I used this picture here on the right a lot as my desktop wallpaper.

Oliebollen / from Munchcast 70 - or how to make fun of a Dutch tradition...
My contribution to Munchcast episode 70 with Traditional New-years Food; Oliebollen.
Oliebollen by NetPierre
Originally, oliebollen (oil balls) are a Dutch New-years snack. They are made of dough, raisins, and various optional ingredients like ginger and apple.
Oliebollen are best eaten warm, preferably with some powder-sugar.
( audio clip recorded on december 20,2009 from the TWiT Network / thanks Leo for making fun of our tradition ;) and for the shoutout at the end. (...and the excellent pronunciation of my name)
...listen to the audio fragment ( only 1 minute and 37 seconds )...
Happy New Year in Advance!

My personal Top 5 albums of 2009
The year 2009 is almost over, so.... time for making lists!
As every year i made my own personal list of best albums released this year,
but this year was a difficult choice.
IMHO not one 'classic album' was made last year, unlike in 2008.
( - Last year's Last Shadow Puppets album was perhaps even the best album of the decade, and albums of The Faint and Grace Jones are still on my personal playlist )
This list is based on my personal favourite albums, albums with the most tracks with 5 stars ended higher on my top-5
It has become a strange list this year with a lot of danceable stuff in it... and i like it!
1 The Juan Maclean - The Future will Come
..as a bonus i advise you to check their website and 21+ minutes live-performance of 'Happy House" that they did earlier this year in Chicago.
2 Phoenix - Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix
3 Muse - The Resistance
4 Moderat - Moderat
5 Calvin Harris - Ready for the Weekend
> 3 artists that almost (but didn't) made it to this list ( in random order ):
Friendly Fires / Jesse Rose / Editors ....too bad for them, but great albums anyway <
Like i said, it's not your average list, perhaps bands you have never heard of.
Check them out, and let me know what you think in the comments.
UPDATE December 11: Here's the winners' reply:

New Serné Schilderwerken site online

It took me almost 3 years to decide how i would do it, but it is finally there; My new company Website.
The site is IMO much better. It is in a blog-style so i can easily update it whenever i want. The plan for now is to update it at least every season with new info, pictures and more.
please take a look here : www.SerneSchilderwerken.nl
