A new lock-keeper in town

Today starts my holiday-job as a lock-keeper / lock-operator.
Officially it's my parents' job, but whenever they have a holiday, i take over this job. The lock is situated in Woerdense Verlaat, the Netherlands.

Readers of this blog are welcome for a visit or so...
Opening hours are from 9 in the morning until 8 in the evening.

I'm hoping for nice weather the next three weeks.

Maria Laach abbey

The abbey on the other side of the lake, here is where my love for gregorian chant comes from.

Doepfer A-100 update: 53rd Module installed

Yesterday i added the 53rd module to my Doepfer A-100 Analog Modular Synthesizer.
The latest addition is the A182-1, 8-fold Switched Multiple module.
I directly 'modified' the module and made it a 2x 4-fold Switched Multiple by cutting the board in half.
( i now use one 4-fold switch for CV-signals and one 4-fold switch to switch between the gate-signals)

Robert Jasper Grootveld Funeral Happening

From: MindliftTV

I.M. Robert Jasper Grootveld

A few days ago, feb.26 2009, Robert Jasper Grootveld died.
Artist, Inventor, Thinker, Dreamer, Inspirer of a whole generation in the 60's and icon of the Provo movement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Provo_(movement)

The last time i saw him (2007) was at a Ruigoord exhibition of his works, celebrating his 75th Birthday.
Here's my picture of the RJG portrait that the Dutch painter Aat Velthoen made for this occasion

... is it a bird?

The longer i live here on the water, the more i appreciate and respect nature. Feeding the waterbirds can lead to nice pictures too...
This one flew a few metres from my kitchen-window this morning;

Icey landscape

Very interesting how the surface of the ice looks after some rain.
